Family:
Dr. Everett was born to the late Alfonze and Mrs. Dorothy Lee. She is the last of five children. Dr. Everett is married to her husband Curtis of 25 years, from that union three children were conceived, Kayla, Curtis and Cierra.
Background and Education:
Dr. Kia Everett is a native of Philadelphian. She always excelled academically, she was educated in the Philadelphia school system, until West Chester University, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 1995. She furthered her education by attending Abraham Lincoln University in pursuit of her Masters of Human Services Degree, which she completed in 1998. After 20+ years of advancing in the field of Human Services, Dr. Everett went back to school at Capella University and she received a Masters of Science degree in the field of Public Service Leadership, after which she received her Doctoral Degree in Christian Counseling. Along with Dr. Everett’s 25+ years of experience in the field of Human Services, she holds a certificate in Family Life Counseling and is a Licensed Behavioral Specialist and has covered all areas from Substance abuse to children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral challenges. In addition to all of Dr. Everett’s formal education, she is a certified life coach, and she is a certified signing agent and notary in the state of Pennsylvania. She is also a licensed minister, Pastor and a consecrated Bishop, Affirmed Apostle and Presiding Prelate.
Career:
Dr. Everett is currently working as the Executive Director of Life Changing Christian Fellowship, Inc., She worked as a behavior specialist and mobile therapist for over fifteen years. She has used her professional experience to help her to excel as a serial entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of Finding Your Way, LLC.,which is the first Mental Health Urgent Care Center in the Mid-Atlantic region. Dr. Everett was a Mental Health and Program Consultant for Voice and Vision’s Outreach and Education Program. She is also a Mental Health Trainer for Independence Blue Cross. Life Changing Christian Fellowship and Destiny Christian Worship Center. Dr. Everett is proud to hold the appointed office of Chaplain for the Delaware Valley Section of the National Coalition of Negro Women (NCNW). She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AAC), the American Counseling Association (ACA), and National Notary Association (NNA). She is also a proud member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). She serves on many professional board of directors in several different roles lending her professional expertise to help when and where she can.
Publications and Training:
Dr. Everett wrote her first book in 2006, “My Way, God’s Way or the Highway”, which published and launched at her first book signing on February, 2010. She has since authored several additional books; More Than Preaching, Life With A Twist, Seasons of Love(a compilation book), Revealed(A Compilation Book), and “Released” and working on several additional books. Dr. Everett has launched her Academy of Mental Health, a learning platform in which she teaches individuals and groups about Mental Health by taking them through Mental Health modules she has personally prepared for certification.

Dr. Everett has had a strong media presence. She has been featured on Marriage Beyond The Vows as a co-host, IHeartRadio, hosted a show, "Pursuing Destiny", Rise Again Television Broadcast, WTMR Radio, "It's Your Time for a Miracle, "Express Yourself, your voice, your choice radio show", “Kingdom Empowerment Inc., ~ KEITV-12”. Dr. Everett was also featured in Christian Authors on Tour Calendar, December, 2015, etc., She is the host of Destiny Moments with Dr. K on CJoy internet Radio, she has been featured in many articles; Michelle Snow Network, PSA, etc., she was also featured in Chester County News as an Ambassador for Mental Health and for her long term work and dedication in the field of Mental Health. She was a former radio host of Destiny Moments with Dr. K on Spiritual Connect Radio. Dr. Everett was also featured as an author in Christian Authors on Tour Calendar, as well as a co- host on the CAOT Radio Show. She was a blog writer for Voice and Vision as their featured Mental Health Writer. Dr. Everett was just recently featured for an exclusive interview on Fox, CBS and NBC. She is the host for Destiny Moments with Dr. K television show on Enlightened Tv, which launched on February 9, 2021.
Dr. Everett is an award winning therapist who is a skilled facilitator in the areas of child abuse prevention, leadership, conflict resolution, mental health, self – esteem, parenting, life skills and behavior modification. She is a skilled, well sought after, award winning, international speaker, preacher and teacher in the Kingdom of God.
